Mrs. Erika Danette Irvin was named the 2018-2019 teacher of the year for our school. Mrs. Irvin has been teaching for 19 years; she has been our Reading Interventionist here at DES since 2014, was one of our kindergarten teachers for 12 years, and a third grade teacher for 2 years. Mrs. Irvin graduated from Richard Bland College with her Associate degree in Science, from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a track in Early Childhood Education, and from Averett University with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Congratulations Mrs. Irvin!
