Meet the Teacher 2021
Greetings DES Families,
On Thursday, September 02, 2021 all of the Elementary Schools in Dinwiddie County will have a meet the teacher event. I want to prepare you for what to expect when you come to Dinwiddie Elementary School.
- If you are on vacation or unable to come to the school, we are providing an extra contact point. You can call the school on Thursday, September 02, 2021 between the hours of 12PM and 2PM and request the name of your child’s teacher. Call (804) 469-4580. Also if you are unable to come to the school on September 02 you may bring school supplies to the school on Monday, August 30, 2021 between 8:30AM and 3:30PM.
- If you are making plans to come to the building we are asking you to contact the main office starting on
Monday, August 23, 2021 between 8:30AM and 3:30PM
Tuesday, August 24, 2021 between 8:30AM and 3:30PM
Thursday, August 26th, 2021 between 8:30AM and 3:30PM
We are scheduling 15 minutes intervals for families to enter the building on September 02, 2021 starting at 3:00PM until 5:40PM. This will help us monitor how many people are in the building at one time.
- Enter the doors labeled with your child’s grade. We are setting up for everyone to enter the building through one door and exit through another door. Look for signs or ask staff if you need assistance.
- Once you are inside of the building, staff will tell you who your child’s teacher will be for the school year. Please follow their directions to the classroom. Please refrain from visiting other classrooms during this time. We would like to give others a chance to come inside as well. If you have school supplies that you would like to bring for your child, you may do so and leave them in the classroom.
- Coming to the building you will have to wear a mask to enter the building and keep it on while inside the building. Doors will be propped open during this event to reduce the number of surfaces that you have to touch. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
- Please help us keep our numbers inside the building low. Only those who need to accompany a child inside should visit on Thursday, September 02, 2021. Three families max in the classroom at one time, socially distanced.
- School Begins on Tuesday, September 07, 2021. Students ONLY will be allowed in the building.
- LUNCH and BREAKFAST are FREE for all Dinwiddie county students this year.

Signs will be posted in the building to help with the flow of traffic. If you have multiple classrooms to visit, pick one grade level door to enter and one grade level door to exit.
Kindergarten and 5th Grade families will enter at B3 and Exit through the Cafeteria
1st and 2nd Grade families will enter at Main Entrance (A1) and Exit through (A1)
3rd and 4th Grade families will enter D3 and Exit through D3
